Brasília – Uncertainty surrounding the United States’ crop and the bullish dollar have caused the Brazilian Agriculture and Livestock Confederation (CNA) to revise up its revenue estimate for 2013. According to the CNA, gross production value (GPV) should amount to R$ 418.3 billion (US$ 189.2 billion), up 7% from the prior projection.
The GPV considers revenues from sales of the 25 leading agriculture and livestock products. According to the CNA, the agricultural sector will fetch R$ 250.7 billion (US$ 113.4 billion) worth of revenues, up 6.2% from 2012. Livestock is expected to grow at a stronger pace in 2013, at R$ 167.56 billion (US$ 75.7 billion), up 8.3%.
