São Paulo – Algeria’s state-owned airline Air Algérie flew a record-high 6.5 million people in 2018, Algérie Presse Service (APS) reported.
In discussing last year’s highlights, the airline mentioned the addition of four new routes. According to the French aviation website Air Journal, the routes connect Algiers’ Houari Boumediene Airport and Charleroi, Belgium; Valence, Spain; Douala, Cameroon; and Libreville, Gabon.
An Air Algérie press release also notes that one of its passenger aircraft was converted into a cargo plane; its IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) registration was renewed; and its onboard catering ISO 22000-2005 certification was completed.
The airline also said it put in place a new integrated passenger management and customer loyalty system, added several pieces of equipment for maintenance and testing, and made improvements to its call center. According to the press release from Air Algérie, 2018 had a good summer season.
