São Paulo – Etihad Airways has launched a promotion this Tuesday (3rd) for passengers purchasing tickets to the United Arab Emirates. Upon buying tickets to Abu Dhabi, the country’s capital, where the airline is based, or tickets for flights with transfers to Dubai, customers will be exempt from the tourist visa issuance fee.
In a press release, the airline has said the promotion is valid for tickets issued by March 31st, and trips taking place by June 30th, 2015. The visa issuance fee for the United Arab Emirates is 500 dirhams apiece, a sum equivalent to US$ 137.
The special offer is also valid for promotional tickets, but not for group or mileage program tickets. To be eligible, passengers must apply for the visa 20 days prior to entering the United Arab Emirates, present copies of all required documents, and a passport valid for at least six months, counting from the date of entry into the Gulf country.
To obtain the exemption, the request must be made via email with attached copies of a 3×4 photograph, the passport, the two-way ticket, the booking confirmation from a UAE hotel, and the filled-in visa application form.
The airline informs that it acts as the “facilitator” to the process, however the approval and issuance of visas is entirely at the discretion of the UAE immigration authorities.
