Dubai – During a two-month stay in the United Arab Emirates, the president of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC), Osmar Chohfi, and the secretary-general, Tamer Mansour, visited the chambers of commerce of the emirates of Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Ajman. The meeting at the Ajman Chamber took place this Tuesday (9), when they were received by the organization’s president, Abdullah Al Muwajai, and the executive director for Trade and Development of International Relations, Mohammed Al Janahi. The representatives of the Ajman Chamber spoke about the facilities of the free zone and presented it as the cheapest in the UAE. “It offers flexible legislation and facilities for those intending to settle in the emirate,” said Chohfi after the meeting. The Ajman free trade zone provides several benefits to companies, primarily in the plastics, boats, fishing boats, and yacht parts sectors.
They highlighted the flexibility of the free zone in adapting to the needs of each company and said they intend to attract more businesses, as it is a re-export hub to the region, mainly to Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Egypt. The emirate has a vital fishing industry.
Mansour and Chohfi invited Al Muwajai to participate in the Brazil-Arab Countries Economic Forum, to take place in July next year in Brazil, and spoke about the work to modernize processes with digitalization at the ABCC. They also offered to do a roadshow with the Chamber of Ajman in some states of Brazil and mentioned the possibility of the emirate importing freshwater fish from the country.
The visit was accompanied by the head of the ABCC’s international office in Dubai, Rafael Solimeo; the regional advisor for the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Iraq, and Yemen, Shaheen Ali Shaheen; and the Institutional Relations manager, Fernanda Baltazar.
