São Paulo – Algeria’s Ministry of Public Works and Transport is inviting Brazilian building companies to join the 16th International Public Works Exhibition (SITP 2018) from November 21 to 25 at the Palais des Expositions Pins Maritimes in Algiers (pictured above).
The world-class event is held by the Ministry alongside the Algerian Company of Fairs and Exports (Safex). According to Algeria’s ambassador to Brazil, Toufik Dahmani, the exhibition is a major opportunity for uncovering investment and partnership opportunities. “It is important for Brazilian industry players to join, because we are looking to cement economic relations between the two countries,” said Dahmani.
According to him, the expo has been chosen by the Algerian government as a strategic occasion to advance the national economy, an “outstanding display of the dynamism of Algeria’s construction and related industries.”
“Algeria boasts a stable economy and its government is planning to invest heavily in infrastructure projects, such as the building and renovation of ports and airports, road reconstruction and the building of the Trans Sahara Highway,” Dahmani said.
The exhibition
First held in 2003, SITP sees exhibitors from around the world flock to Algiers to showcase the latest building and mining industry products, machinery and technology, including excavators, loaders, compressors, air-powered tools, concrete processing machinery, scaffolding, levelers, etc.
“SITP is a crucial step for Brazilian enterprises wishing to join the Algerian market, a place in which to share and meet with prospective partners,” explained Dahmani. Would-be exhibitors can check out the exhibition website or call the Embassy of Algeria in Brasília at +55 61 3248-1949.
