Algiers – Preliminary data on the 2016/2017 crop shows that cereal output in Algeria reached 3.5 million tons, against 3.4 million of the previous cycle, according to information released this Thursday (17) by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Arab country and published by news outlet Algérie Presse Service (APS).
The cereal planted area has been 88% harvested until now. Near 2.5 million hectares were allocated to cereal in the current crop, out of 3.5 million of planted area, with the rest of the amount allocated to produce forage.
