São Paulo – ANBA Cast, the podcast of the Brazil-Arab News Agency, aired its 100th episode on Wednesday (5), after nearly two years since its creation. The podcast focus on spreading information on the Arab countries, particularly on topics of interest for Brazilian exporters. The first episode aired in October 2020, and since then approximately four episodes a month were made available.
ANBA Cast debuted on podcast players with two episodes, “The pandemic in the Gulf” and “The forum of Arabs and Brazilians.” The first addressed how the Gulf countries were dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, which had started some months ago, while the latter presented the Economic Forum Brazil & Arab Countries, which would take place online for the first time ever due to the coronavirus.
The 100th episode brings an interview with electric shower company FAME Export manager Maria Prado. The manager talks about how the electric shower is a Brazilian invention that is now present in 40 countries, particularly in South America and Sub-Saharan Africa. Prado also talks about FAME’s internationalization project in Dubai, where the company has a distribution center.
As it was first launched during the pandemic, and therefore within a context of restricted direct contact, the first episodes of ANBA Cast were recorded remotely, which still happens in many of them, with guests from across Brazil and elsewhere. The ANBA podcast has interviewed guests from different Brazilian states, including Bahia and Minas Gerais, and countries such as Morocco, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates.
The podcast came to complement the ANBA communication channels. The agency publishes new stories in Portuguese, English and Arabic, with a presence on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and Twitter. Besides having each episode announced on the agency, the podcast is available on Spreaker, Spotify, iHeartRadio, GooglePodcasts, Castbox, Deezer, PodcastAddict, Podchaser, JioSaavn, ApplePodcasts, and YouTube. It is recorded in Portuguese and edited by Sonica Podcasts.
ANBA is part of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC), whose mission is to foster the economic, cultural and tourist interchange between the Arab countries and Brazil. The news content of the agency is solely focused on the coverage of this bilateral relation. The website has around 60,000 monthly accesses and agreements with 10 Arab news agencies. ANBA journalists have won 11 journalism awards and traveled to 19 Arab countries.
