São Paulo – One of the latest music videos by singer Anitta of Brazil features her clad in overalls created by a Kuwaiti designer. The Brazilian pop star wore a tight-fitting, sparkly green, high-collar piece by Yousef Al Jasmi, according to the website of Saudi Arabian newspaper Arab News.
The video is for the song “Mi Niña,” which Anitta sings in Spanish – the title means “My Girl” alongside singers Maluma, of Colombia, and Wisin and Myke Towers, of Porto Rico. Maluma sings reggaeton, pop, salsa and other styles. Wisin sings reggaeton, hip hop and Latin pop, and Towers is a rapper.
As the video begins, Anitta is wearing light-green see-through overalls, which she later takes off to reveal short overalls with plastic-like texture. Al Jasmi posted photos and Anitta’s video on his social media. According to Arab News, the designer has several celebrity clients, including Naomi Campbell, the Kardashian-Jenner sisters, Sofia Richie, and Kelly Rowland.
Arab News reported that this isn’t the first time Anitta wears clothing by an Arab designer. The 2019 Latin Grammy saw her in a crystal-lined skirt and a yellow crop top with an oversized, floor-trailing bow, a design by Georges Hobeika of Lebanon.
Al Jasmi predominantly designs nightwear, and his collections feature bright details and lots of embroidery. He got into the fashsion industry very young, encouraged by his designer sister. He rose to fame after getting an order from United States actress Paris Hilton, fashion news outlets reported. Yousef Al Jami’s designs are the flamboyant, head-turning type.
