Aqaba, Jordan – The city of Aqaba, in Jordan, welcomed 477,000 tourists in H1 this year, up 56% from 306,000 visitors in H1 2017, Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) chief commissioner Nasser Shraideh was quoted this Tuesday (7) by Jordanian news outlet Petra as saying.
“The strategy for the current year aims to increase the number of tourists to Aqaba to 750 thousand tourists and that the numbers achieved so far are an indicator that we are on the right track to reaching this year’s goal,” Shraideh said. Aqaba is a tourist destination and port city on the Red Sea coast, in Southern Jordan.
