São Paulo – The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce should participate, starting on Wednesday (11th), in the DBX Sulaimaniyah International Tradeshow, a multisectorial fair that takes place in the city of Sulaimaniyah, in Kurdistan, Iraq. The organisation should share a stand with the embassy of Brazil to the country, which is headquartered in Jordan. The Arab Brazilian Chamber should be represented by secretary general Michel Alaby, who should have meetings with local authorities.
At the space, also present will be representatives of trading company Alliance Commodities, which works with dairy products. The company already sells to countries in the Middle East and North Africa. Alliance exports from powdered milk to chocolate drinks, condensed milk and cheese. At the fair, the Arab Brazilian Chamber should also dish out catalogues of companies interested in the Iraqi market. They are from sectors like food, tyres and plastic.
This should be the fifth edition of DBX Sulaimaniyah International Tradeshow. The Arab Brazilian Chamber is participating in the exhibition for the second time. Last year, the fair received over 100,000 visitors. According to information disclosed by the organizers of the exhibition, this year there should be over 400 exhibitors, Iraqi and from other countries. The fair is promoted by the United States-Iraq Chamber of Commerce and should end on Saturday (14th).
Brazil has been increasing its exports to Iraq. According to figures disclosed by the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, the country exported to Iraq US$ 162.4 million in products from January to September this year. In the same period last year, shipments reached US$ 89.9 million. The main products shipped this year were meats, land-levellers, soy oil and coffee. Brazil imports oil from Iraq.
