São Paulo – The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) received the Brasil Expodireto Trophy in the International Highlight category. The award officially opens the calendar of the 22nd Expodireto Cotrijal, an agribusiness show organized by the Agricultural and Industrial Cooperative (Cotrijal) from the state of Rio Grande do Sul. This Sunday (6), the Market Intelligence manager of the ABCC, Marcus Vinícius, received the award aimed at institutions that collaborate in the foreign trade of agribusiness. In this edition, Expodireto Cotrijal takes place under the motto “We are the force that moves agribusiness” and takes place from March 7 to 11 at the exhibition park in the municipality of Não-Me-Toque. In addition to the on-site show this year, the contents and booths will also be available online at Expodireto Digital.
Also this Monday (7), Marcus Vinícius will give the lecture ‘Brazil and Arab Countries – Challenges and Opportunities,’ in which he will address the topic with a particular focus on trade from the state where the show takes place. “The lecture is to show the importance of agribusiness in exports from Brazil and Rio Grande do Sul, also presenting information on the sector in the Arab world, trends, export opportunities, and challenges for foreign trade in this sector,” said the manager.
Among the highlights of trends the executive will address are foods with halal certification, animal protein, processed and organic foods, machinery, and veterinary medicines.
The schedule features in-person events at the central and production auditoriums and online broadcasts on Arena Agrodigital. Access to the park and digital platform is free, except for the National Soy Forum. The organizing committee expects 50 countries will be represented in this edition, with distinction to the ABCC, which brings together 22 Arab countries. In 2020, the show received 256,000 visitors and recorded BRL 2.6 billion in sales, 10% more than the BRL 2.4 billion achieved in 2019.
