São Paulo – Representatives from Bahrain want to establish a memorandum of understating with the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce to create a Brazil-Bahrain Business Council with the objective of strengthening economic cooperation between both countries.
Three parliament members of the Arab country are in Brazilian capital Brasília, where they are working on a two-day agenda and met with the CEO at the Arab Brazilian Chamber, Michel Alaby, and the Government Relations executive at the organisation, Tamer Mansour.
The delegation from Bahrain includes Othman Sharif Al Rayes, who is also a member of the board of representatives of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce, Ali Ahmed Alderazi and Abdhaken Ebrahim Al Shamary. Alongside the Arab Brazilian Chamber representative, the Bahraini speakers visited the Brazilian Foreign Ministry, where they met councillor Carlos Leopoldo de Oliveira.
According to Alaby, prior to the meeting at the Itamaraty, the Arab representatives paid a courtesy visit to the Lower House and met with Nelson Pellegrino, president of the Foreign Relations Commission at the house. Still yesterday afternoon, the parliament members had engagements at the Ministry of Justice.
On Tuesday (09), representatives from Bahrain visited the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, where he has a meeting scheduled with Célio Porto, International Relations secretary at the ministry. “They are going to discuss matters related to beef and chicken,” said Alaby.
