São Paulo – “Saudi Arabia can be a gateway to Middle East for Brazilian products,” said Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce secretary-general Tamer Mansour during the Economic Forum that was part of Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (JCCI) 75th anniversary celebrations in Saudi Arabia this week.
Mansour was part of the first of four panels (photo above), talking about “The Role of Chambers of Commerce in Developing the Private Sector.” The Arab Brazilian Chamber secretary-general also talked about the need to diversify trade between Saudi Arabia and Brazil and said the kingdom could also become a logistics center to transport Brazilian products to the Middle East. According to Mansour, the approximately twelve million Arab expatriates in Brazil are a perfect market for products exported from Saudi Arabia to the Latin country.
“I spoke about the steps we should take this year to improve the investment sector, changing the import and export relation between Brazil and Saudi Arabia into a more strategic partnership; I also spoke extensively about food security and tourism, said Mansour to ANBA. The other panels of the event covered civil construction and infrastructure, tourism, and human resources.
The Jeddah Chamber of Commerce’s anniversary celebrations were themed “75 Years of Achievements.” On Tuesday (26) night, there was a gala dinner where a model of the new Jeddah Chamber headquarters was revealed – two buildings to be completed by the end of the year.
The event was attended by authorities such as Makkah governor Khaled Al-Faisal, and the Union of Arab Chambers secretary-general Khaled Hanafy, president Mohamad Abdo Saeed and vice-president Ahmed El Wakil, as well as other authorities from the public and private sectors.
