São Paulo – The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) will sign a partnership agreement on Monday (7) with São Paulo Football Club (SPFC). The agreement will be signed by the president of São Paulo, Julio Casares, and the president of the ABCC, Osmar Chohfi, and is part of the brand internationalization strategy of the São Paulo-based club in the Arab countries, says a joint press release.
“The project is important for the growth of the São Paulo-based club as it’ll both raise revenues and be a great showcase for the brand. Therefore, São Paulo deems the partnership agreement with the ABCC strategic,” São Paulo president Julio Casares was quoted as saying in the news release. The ceremony will take place in the headquarter of the Estádio Cícero Pompeu de Toledo, also known as Morumbi, and will be followed by a webinar, which will feature translation into English, Brazilian Portuguese, Arabic, and Brazilian Sign Language. The program will be screened online, and registration is open and free of charge. The webinar will feature Cafu, soccer player, Hamad Bin Mejren, vice president of Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commercial Marketing (Dubai Toruism), and many other experts and executives.
“The agreement aims to contribute to the development of a mutual cooperation program. We will encourage not only a greater recognition of the São Paulo Football Club in the Arab countries but also the establishment of friendship ties that go beyond soccer such as promoting business between Brazilians and the 22 countries that compose the Arab League,” ABCC president Osmar Chohfi says.
Chohfi said that soccer is a great passion of the Arabs, who remember major Brazilian idols such as Pelé, Ronaldo “The Phenomenon”, and Neymar. According to him, the partnership with São Paulo is timely as the 22th World Cup will take in place in Qatar. SPFC is a six-time Brazilian champion, three-time Libertadores champion, and three-time world champion. It also holds the Brazilian record of participations in international competitions and has over 18 million fans in Brazil and elsewhere.
The event on Monday will start from 8:30 am (BRT). In addition to Mejren, Chohfi, Casares and Cafu, the event will feature ELP World Sports Media founder Abdulla AlHammadi, Empower Football Academy CEO & founder Farida Salem, SPFC International Department director Gabriel Abouchar, SPFC International Department manager Camilla Prando, SPFC Marketing director Eduardo Toni, ABCC secretary-general & CEO Tamer Mansour, and ABCC Marketing & Content manager Silvana Gomes.
