São Paulo – Brazilian businessmen interested in the markets of the Middle East and North Africa may enrol for the first "’Learn about the Arab Market" workshop, to take place on Thursday (10) at the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce offices, in São Paulo. The organisation should promote an edition of the event each month up to December. Enrolment is free.
The workshops, to be given by the Market Development manager at the Arab Brazilian Chamber, Rodrigo Solano, and by the organizations Foreign Trade coordinator, Francisca Barros, are turned to small and medium businesses interested in internationalising their trade. "With this event we are opening the Arab Brazilian Chamber doors to businessmen," said Solano.
According to him, the workshops should provide businessmen with a basis of what the Arab market is, how to enter it and what to export to these countries. "I am going to present economic figures of the Arab countries, highlights of the economy, the main sectors, business opportunities, bilateral trade and other figures," said Solano, who is also going to provide examples of companies that already export to the region and are already established in the market.
"With this knowledge of the Arab market, the company should start investing more to win the market," said the manager. According to him, there is great demand by Brazilian companies to know more about the Arab market, and that is where the motivation for the workshops arose.
According to Francisca, the event should serve to prepare the company to export. "I am going to give step-by-step instructions as to how to export to the Middle East," she said. According to the coordinator, businessmen must be prepared to enter the market and know the steps he must take to begin. "We are going to guide them so they are not swallowed by competitors abroad," he added.
Apart from Arab market data, the workshop should also present the services that the Arab Brazilian Chamber offers Brazilian exporters, among them certification of products, translation of documents, commercial enquiries, fair promotion and business roundtables, among others.
Trade
Trade between Brazil and the Arab countries has been presenting great growth. Over the last five years, bilateral trade grew 262%. In the first half of this year, foreign sales from Brazil to the region grew 4.1%, whereas exports from Brazil to the world dropped 23%.
