São Paulo – Executives from the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce’s (ABCC) international office in the United Arab Emirates were at the Fujairah Chamber of Commerce and Industry last week to discuss cooperation and ways to bring business people from Fujairah and Brazil together. Fujairah is one of the seven emirates that make up the UAE, along with Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Ras al-Khaiman, Sharjah, and Umm al-Quawain.
The president of the Fujairah Chamber, Saeed bin Suroor Al Sharqi, received the advisor for the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Iraq and Yemen of the ABCC, Shaheen Ali Shaheen, and the head of the institution’s office in Dubai, Rafael Solimeo. According to Solimeo, the visit to Fujairah is part of the entity’s strategy to expand its operations to all regions of the UAE.
According to his information to ANBA, Fujairah is strategically located in the UAE, receiving major sea routes from the Gulf of Oman, which may interest Brazilian companies. According to the head of the office, the emirate, still not so explored by Brazilian entrepreneurs, presents several business opportunities in oil and gas, rocks, and construction.
Sharqi expressed his desire to cooperate with the ABCC. He stated the presence of the entity in Dubai will provide business people in Fujairah with opportunities to meet, exchange ideas and create partnerships with Brazilian contractors and investors. He invited Brazilians to visit Fujairah and learn about investment opportunities in the industry, commerce, tourism, and logistics services, according to information published in the UAE’s official news agency, Emirates News Agency (WAM).
Also attending the meeting were the first vice-president of the Fujairah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Surour Hamad Obaid Al Zawhary, Secretary-General Khamis Muhammed Al Ruli, Treasurer Khaled Khalfan Al Kaabi, Board Member Saif Ali Saif Al Eter, and the director-general Sultan Jumba Al-Hendasi.
