Arab Chamber CEO Michel Alaby said “this event is intended to showcase the potential that the Arab construction industry holds, and to encourage these businesses to seek out those markets.” Arab Chamber Market executives will give a presentation on existing opportunities in major projects across the Gulf, including works for Expo 2020 Dubai, in the UAE, and the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar (stadium under construction pictured above); and in North Africa, including housing projects in Algeria, which has a big housing deficit, and the building of Egypt’s new administrative capital.
The presentation will cover key industry shows in the Arab world, like Dubai’s Big 5 (for construction), Wetex (for energy, water, technology and environment) and Middle East Stone Fair (for dimension stones).
Last year saw USD 3.25 million worth of building material exported from Brazil to Arab countries. As per the latest numbers available, Middle East and North Africa imports reached USD 2.61 billion in 2016.
Arab markets are booming, with deals potentially reaching USD 225 billion this year, including projects designed to address housing deficits and major investment in technological and sustainable cities, comprising infrastructure, logistics, sanitation, communication, hospitals and tourism.
