São Paulo – On the final day of the Economic Forum Brazil & Arab Countries, the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Egyptian Exporters Association (Expolink).
The signing of the MoU was attended online by ABCC president Rubens Hannun, ABCC Institutional Relations manager Fernanda Baltazar, and Expolink chairman Khaled El Mikati, who logged in from Egypt (pictured above).
“This is an extremely important moment. The fact that we already have a Mercosur-Egypt free trade agreement in place is really helpful as well, and it is interesting for us to work not only on the Egyptian market, but in all of Africa,” Baltazar said.
El Mikati argued that this is a great opportunity for Egypt’s exporters to tap into the Mercosur. “We will get direct access to this market, and we’ll work with Brazilian enterprises that are looking to come to Egypt and to the African continent,” he said. He also said Expolink’s services have been made available in digital form.
Hannun said the MoU represents a step forward in relations with Egypt and Africa.
