São Paulo – The Arab countries will be represented at a tourism fair in November, in Rio Grande do Sul. The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce will be an exhibitor at Festuris Gramado – International Tourism Fair, in the city of Gramado, promoting the Arab world as a tourist destination. According to the organizers of Festuris, the UAE’ Emirates airline and Morocco’s Royal Air Maroc will also have their own stands in the event.
This will be the Arab Chamber’s first time at Festuris, which is in its 30th edition. “It’s a way to promote Arab countries as affordable travel destinations that are not widely known by Brazilians,” said the organization’s CEO, Michel Alaby.
The CEO points out that tourism in the Arab world is very diversified, from religious tourism in countries such as Palestine, Egypt and Jordan, to the places considered to be exotic and unique such as the resort town of Sharm el-Sheikh, the desert sites in Morocco and Algeria, the historic city of Petra, Jordan, and the shopping wonders of Dubai.
The Arab Chamber’s stand will span 9 square meters, featuring images and videos of the Arab countries, according to the organization’s Marketing analyst Tâmara Machado. The fair is intended for tourism professionals, and the Arab Chamber is aiming to attract their attention to the Arab countries as business and leisure destinations, according to Machado.
Festuris will run from November 8 to 11 at Serra Park, with the theme “Tourism and Business Always Travel Together.” Over 2,000 exhibiting brands and destinations are expected. According to the fair’s press office, by the end of August, over 3,500 visitors from Brazil and abroad had registered. Organizers expect 12,000 tourism professionals to visit the fair.
The list of exhibitors on the Festuri website includes tour operators, hotels and resorts, travel agencies, incoming travel agencies, associations, tech and gastronomy companies, airlines, theme parks and destinations including cities, regions, countries, and specific tour routes. In addition to the Arab countries, the event will feature Spain, Ivory Coast, United States, South Africa and Paraguay, among others.
Festuris will feature many specific events, such as Festuris Meeting, on content and networking, the Luxury Room, for luxury tourism businesses, the Tech and Corporate Room and the Influence Room, which will gather digital influencers from the sector. The fair is organized by Rossi & Zorzanello, a company with 30 years’ experience organizing major events.
