São Paulo – The former Brazilian president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will be honoured by the Federation of Muslim Associations in Brazil (Fambras) on (21st). During dinner at the Monte Líbano club, in the capital of São Paulo, the organization will give thanks on behalf of the Arab community for Lula’s work for economic and cultural integration between Brazil and the Arab world.
Fambras highlights that over the eight years of the Lula administration – he had two terms in office as president – exports from Brazil to the region have exceeded US$ 12 billion. In 2003, sales reached US$ 2.7 billion and last year, according to the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, they reached US$ 12.5 billion.
