São Paulo – Rotana Media Group, one of the main entertainment groups in the Arab world, is seeking Brazilian composers. The objective is to take the melodies of Brazilian artists to the music of the record company’s singers.
The list of Rotana singers is broad and includes many of the main names in Arab music, like the Egyptian Amr Diab, who has even been successful in Brazil, with songs on soap opera O Clone (The Clone), by Globo TV, in 2001, as well as Elissa, Nawal Alkuwaitiah, Haifa Wahba, Fadl Chaker and others.
The record company’s main demand is for pop music melodies, a gender that is predominant among its artists, but jazz and soft music are also sought. According to information disclosed by the company, the success of Brazilian music in Egypt and the Middle East generated the group’s interest in Brazilian artists.
Those interested in offering their work to the Arab group should get in contact with Rotana by mid-September. There will be a prior evaluation of the composer’s work and, if approved, the company should discuss a possible contract. It is not necessary to present never before heard works, as the company is also prepared to buy melodies that have already been released in Brazil.
