São Paulo – Multinational sports brand Puma has launched a promotion in Brazil to select guests to the party celebrating the seven million years of Africa, due in the capital of the state of São Paulo in June. The selection process involves a game with Afrcan national football teams sponsored by Puma: Algeria, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Ghana, Morocco and Tunisia. Of these, four are Arab: Algeria, Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia.
In order to participate, go to the promotion’s website (www.pumalovefutebol.com.br), select one of the teams and print out a page from which the doll of a player can be cut out. It then has to be manually assembled. The next step is to place the doll in an unexpected place and take a picture, which must be submitted to the promotion through the site.
The 14 most voted pictures, on the Internet, will be selected and their authors will be able to attend the party along with three escorts. In addition to attending the party, the winners will be fetched at home and then taken back afterwards. Puma is going to help them put together a special look for the event, and free breakfast will be included.
The promotion’s website brings information on the African national teams. The Algerian team was established in 1958 and participated in two world cups, in 1982 and 1986. It won the African Nations Cup in 1990. The Egyptian team dates back to 1921, is currently the African football champion, and was the first African team to participate in a World Cup, in Italy, 1934. The Moroccan team won the African Nations Cup in 1976 and was established in 1959. Presently , it ranks 57th in the ranking of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (Fifa).
