São Paulo – Two Arab universities are in the ranking of the world’s 100 best universities established under 50 years ago, formulated by British higher education evaluation institute The Higher Education (THE). King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, from Saudi Arabia, is in the 94th position, and Mansoura University, in Egypt, is in the 96th place.
According to a press statement disclosed by THE, the ranking was established aiming at showing what countries are challenging he United States and the United Kingdom, based on excellent higher education institutions, as well as identifying what universities should issue the new world leaders.
In Brazil, two universities from São Paulo entered the list: the University of Campinas (Unicamp), aged 46, is in the 44th place, and the São Paulo State University (Unesp), aged 36, is in 99th place.
