Brasília – The Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) confirmed that three of power utility Eletrobras’ distribution units will be auctioned on Thursday (30). The units on auction will be Companhia de Eletricidade do Acre (Eletroacre), Centrais Elétricas de Rondônia (Ceron) and Boa Vista Energia, respectively in the states of Acre, Rondônia and Roraima.
BNDES said in a communiqué that documentation submitted by prospective bidders has met the requirements for the auction. Bids will be made via video conferencing as of 3 pm at São Paulo stock exchange B3, and winners will be announced afterwards.
The distributing companies will be sold for a symbolic BRL 50,000. Bidders offering the highest discounts on electricity charges set by the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) will win, and concession contracts are expected to be signed between October 31 and December 5.
