Brazil imported US$ 35.1 billion in chemical products in 2008, growth of 46.6% over 2007. Exports grew 11.3% and totalled US$ 11.9 billion.
Revenues from foreign sales in 2008 were 14% lower than in 2007. The industry expects trouble in 2009 because of the international crisis.
