In addition to having increased its revenues by 22% in 2006, the company expanded its production capacity, inaugurated a new factory, and began exporting to Angola and Greece, kicking off the process of brand globalisation. Five craftsmen from the outskirts of São Paulo make a living out of the art of marquetry, using pieces of wood found on the streets, and donations from furniture stores and carpentry shops. Brazilian companies in the graphic arts industry expect revenues 5% higher for next year. Until the end of this year, the sector should grow 2.7%. Exports have ensured a good performance for the sector this year, and should be responsible for a significant share of the projected growth for 2007.

Enseada da Praia started out 12 years ago as a small company in the city of Cabo Frio, in the southeastern Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro. It consisted only of a textile unit and a store.
