The Tunisian government has opened an international tender for the building, administration and operation of an oil refinery 340 kilometres away from Tunis, the country capital. The production capacity will be 120,000 barrels of oil a day. The deadline for bid submission is the end of March and they may be by foreign companies.

The largest meatpacking group in Brazil is participating in Gulfood, a fair in the food sector that ends today in the United Arab Emirates. According to the company trader, Luis Rota, the Middle East is a priority market. The company shipments to the region grew 100% between 2004 and 2005.
This is the estimate of the Brazilian High-End Furniture Manufacturers Association (Abimad) for contracts to be closed over the coming 12 months. The Abimad organized a fair that ended yesterday and at which some 15 Arab businessmen closed US$ 2 million in deals.
