Coffee toasters from Volta Redonda have had coffee brand Café Faraó (Pharaoh Coffee) registered for over 50 years. The name is in homage to the Middle East, which spread the coffee culture around the world. In 2006, the company hopes to increase exports and enter Egypt, the land of the Pharaohs.

Amazon Trading was established in the northern Brazilian state of Pará by three professionals who have recently graduated in Foreign Trade. The objective is to establish a bridge between companies in the region and the foreign market. The trading company already exports to the United States and is after other markets, like Algeria. The wood is legalized, produced by lumber companies that are engaged in forestry management.
During the trip, Alcafoods, a maker of breakfast cereals, made contacts that may generate business in Asia and even on the Brazilian market. To the Arab country, the company plans to start selling in the medium term. Based in the city of Goiás, the company has a capacity for production of 90 tonnes a day and employs 200 people.

The Arab country had revenues of US$ 10 billion with exports between January and November this year. Exports rose 8.5% and reached US$ 12.9 billion. Tunisia is the second largest exporter of phosphates in the world and also sells products like olive oil, textiles and dates on the foreign market.
Espírito Santo rose from the fifth to the second position in the ranking of Brazilian states that most export to the Arab countries. Between January and November this year, the state had revenues of US$ 506 million with sales to the region. The performance is due to an increase in iron ore exports.

Of the US$ 300 million turnover that the sector has each year in Brazil, US$ 200 million come from exports. Europe, the United States and Japan are the largest importers in the world. Among the list of products are coffee, cocoa, orange juice, crystallized and tropical fruit, cereals and livestock products. Some companies, like Native and Jasmine, are aware of this market that currently has a turnover of US$ 25 billion.
Companies like Itaueira and Nolem grow melons in the Brazilian semi-arid. Most of the production is exported to countries in the European Union. The companies, however, are eyeing the Middle East and North Africa. According to an executive at Itaueira, the warm climate of the Arab nations if favourable to the entry of Brazilian fruit.
Stiller Calçados – established around 30 years ago in the city of Uberlândia, in Minas Gerais – also exports to another three Arab nations: Iraq, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.
