The cosmetics industry should total revenues of US$ 400 million in foreign sales up to the end of the year. The sector has been expanding its clients outside the country, although South America is still the main destination. New markets, like the Arab, entered the list of countries that import sector products in recent years.

The financing collected by companies from the southern Brazilian state of Paraná at the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) totalled approximately US$ 315 million (at current exchange rates) between January and October. The value represents an increase of 25% over the same months last year. Industries are investing in the modernization of their factories.
The countries in the region are already the greatest importers of chicken meat from Brazil, but they continue increasing their purchases. Exports to the Middle East grew 14% in terms of volume and 41% in terms of revenues between January and November when compared to the same period in 2004, according to the Brazilian Poultry Exporters Association (Abef).

Agrícola Fraibrugo is negotiating sales of apples to a large importer in Dubai, which may bring the return to apple exports to the region. The company target is to double the value of exports, growing from the current 15% to 30% of production in a period of five years.
