The fair is going to take place between May 22 and 24 in the United Arab Emirates and its objective is presentation of services and products for hotels. The Brazilian stand will have from kitchen utensils to furniture for swimming pools and shampoo kits. A total of 150 new hotels are being planned in Dubai for construction within the next five years.
This is the conclusion of a study by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce. The document also shows that Brazilian participation is still modest, 0.2%. The sector that stands out the most is the shoe sector. In this sector, Brazilian products answer to, on average, 3.1% of the total imported by the countries of the Arabian Gulf.
Brazilian sales revenues to the 22 Arab countries in the League of Arab States rose 18% between January and April, more than the 12% to 13% forecasted by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce for the year. The tendency, according to Antonio Sarkis Jr., the president of the organization, is that the shipping should rise even more in the second half of this year. In April, the growth was 53%.
The Syrian delegation, which participated in the business roundtables between Brazilians and Arabs, in São Paulo, had a meeting with directors of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce on Friday. They want to buy more from Brazil and discuss forms to simplify trade.
