According to Tarso Genro, the Brazilian minister of Education, the government is going to propose the elaboration of a joint declaration to expand cooperation in the educational area. On Tuesday he met with Foreign Minister Celso Amorim to discuss the matter. The meeting took place one day after the meeting between minister Genro and the Arab ambassadors, where the teaching of Arabic in Brazil and of Portuguese in the Arab world was discussed.

The Brazilian company Ferrucci shipped 10,000 pairs of shoes last year to the chain of stores Shoe Mart, which has about 100 points of sales in the Gulf countries. As well as strengthening their partnership with the chain in 2005, the shoe manufacturer from the city of Jaú also plans on exploring the Omani market, to which they sent a test order in 2004.
