Company Savon, a maker of powdered drinks, wants to start exporting to the Arab market. For this, company representatives are going to participate in a food sector fair in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, to take place at the end of the month. Apart from juice, the company is going to offer chocolate drinks to the Arabs at the event.
The sector, made up of 14,500 producers, is structuring itself to supply the demand of the Middle East and North Afirca, traditional consumers of sheep, lamb and goat. The state currently counts on a herd of 730,000 animals.
An agreement between the Brazilian Institute of Gems and Precious Metals and the Ministry of Tourism forecasts the establishment of tourist routes in the gems, jewel and precious stone circuits of the states of Minas Gerais (SE Brazil) and Rio Grande do Sul (S). The idea is to attract foreigners connected to the sector, in the business area, as well as geologists, gemmologists and even museum representatives.
The Brazilian Institute for Geography and Statistics disclosed a study that shows growth of 6% in the Brazilian industry in 2007. The result is the best since 2004 and was powered mainly by domestic sales. One of the highlights was the sale of machinery and equipment for industry itself.

Egypt is going to start implementing a pilot social program in one of the poorest neighbourhoods in Cairo, Ain El Sira. Part of the project will be inspired on social activities promoted by the government of Brazil. Representatives of the Ministry of Social Development were in the Arab country to present the Brazilian experience.
