The president of Brazilian oil giant Petrobras, José Sérgio Gabrielli, confirmed that the company is studying the possibility of establishing terminals to transform liquefied natural gas (LNG) into its gaseous form in the country. The sites should make it possible for Brazil to import gas from Qatar and Algeria, both Arab countries that are producers of LNG.

The consortium formed between construction company Odebrecht, from Brazil, and Al-Jaber, from the United Arab Emirates, won a tender to build the second runway of Abu Dhabi International Airport. The contract is evaluated at US$ 285 million and works begin in one month.
The money will be used to update technology and for the purchase of machinery and equipment, and will not only stay in the southern Brazilian state of Santa Catarina. The airline from Qatar is going to inaugurate its office in Brazil in June and should start operating together with a Brazilian company within the next two months. The company plans for the next 18 months include the establishment of a direct flight between the city of São Paulo and Doha.
