Brasília – A decree raising the fees charged at airports managed by the Brazilian Airport Infrastructure Company (Infraero) and other government-run airports that are not under concession to private companies has been issued today (14th) on the Brazilian Official Gazette.
The new fees vary depending on the airport and flight type (domestic or international). For domestic flights, boarding fees have increased by an average of R$ 2.21. For international flights, the new fees range from R$ 28.67 to R$ 85.99.
The highest domestic charge is for “category 1” airports, including but not limited to Congonhas (São Paulo), Santos Dumont (Rio de Janeiro) and Salgado Filho (Rio Grande do Sul). The full list is available on the website of the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac).
According to Anac, the new rates are designed to meet the costs of boarding services, connections, landing, permanence and storage of import and export cargo. The fees should be raised in 30 days.
