Brasília – In the second week of June, which had four business days, the balance of trade recorded a positive result (surplus) of US$ 737 million. During the period, exports totalled US$ 2.508 billion and imports, US$ 1.771 billion. The figures were supplied by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade.
The trade surplus in June so far is US$ 1.945 billion. In the two weeks of June, foreign sales totalled US$ 6.042 billion and imports, US$ 4.097 billion.
From January until the second week of June this year, exports totalled US$ 61.526 billion and imports, US$ 50.209 billion. The trade surplus during the period was US$ 11.317 billion, representing growth of 16.3% over the result for January until the second week of June 2008 (US$ 9.728 billion).
