Brasília – The projection from Brazilian financial market players regarding the Extended National Consumer Price Index (IPCA) this year has moved down for the ninth straight week, this time from 4.03% to 4.01%. The inflation forecast for this year is lower than the midpoint of the Central Bank’s target range, which is 4.5%, with the lower end at 3% and the high end at 6%. The estimate for 2018 climbed from 4.30% to 4.39%.
The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth estimate for this year changed up from 0.46% to 0.47%. In 2018, Brazil’s economy is seen growing by 2.5%. The projection has remained thuds for seven straight weeks.
