Brasília – The financial market, for the third consecutive time, revised down its forecast for the economy’s growth this year. The estimative for the expansion of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), the sum of all goods and services produced in the country, went from 0.40% to 0.39%.
The forecast for 2018’s GDP growth was revised down for the fifth straight time, going from 2.20% to 2.10%. These estimatives are parto f the Focus Bulletin, a survey conducted weekly by the Brazilian Central Bank (BC) on the main economic indicators.
The forecast for the inflation, as measured by the Extended National Consumer Price Index (IPCA), was revised down for the fourth straight time, going from 3.64% to 3.48% this year. For 2018, the estimative dropped from 4.33% to 4.30%, the third consecutive decline.
