Brasília – The projection of financial institutions for Brazil’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), i.e. the sum of all goods and services produced in the country, as been revised from 3% 3.02%, in the 15th consecutive turn for the worse. The estimate for next year has gone from 1.22% to 1.43% shrinkage, the third straight downward revision. The projections are part of a poll conducted weekly by the Brazilian Central Bank. The industrial production forecast remains at 7% per annum for 2015 and has been adjusted from 1% to 1.5%.
The US dollar is expected to be worth BRL 4 by the end of this year, and has been revised up from BRL 4.13 to BRL 4.20 for the end of 2016.
The Extended Consumer Price Index (IPCA) estimate has gone up for the sixth consecutive time, from 9.75% to 9.85% this year. The forecast for government-controlled prices has shifted from 16% to 16.11% for this year and 6.35% to 6.60% for the next one.
