São Paulo – Brazilian beef exports declined in April over the same month last year, according to data released this Monday (11th) by the Association of Brazilian Beef Exporters (Abiec). The drop occurred both in volume and in revenues, with the same 7% percentage.
The volume shipped amounted to 107,000 tons and the revenue generated for Brazil with the trade reached US$ 447 million last month. Abiec points out, in a press release, the increase of volume shipped to Russia, with 23%, Venezuela, with 71%, Iran, with 24%, and Algeria, with an increase of 59%.
In the first five months of the year, Brazil exported 426,000 tons of beef and also recorded a drop of 15% over the same period of 2014. Revenues were of US$ 1.8 billion, 17% less than the first four months of last year.
