São Paulo – Bicycle production at plants in the Manaus Industry Hub increased by 10.7% year-on-year in H1, the Brazilian Motorcycle, Moped and Bicycle Manufacturers Association (Abraciclo) reported this Friday (13).
H1 2018 saw 327,850 bikes made, up from 296,275 in H1 2017. The numbers include production by ten brands: Caloi, Cannondale, GT, Schwinn, Houston, Audax, Sense, Sense e-bikes, Oggi and Ox.
“Demand for Brazilian-made product and especially for bicycles made in the Manaus Industry Hub has been on the way up this year. Buyers are looking for more and more added value, quality and competitive pricing,” a press release quoted Abraciclo vice president for Bicycles João Ludgero.
