São Paulo – Brazilian issues of bonds in foreign countries, which are a means for raising funds abroad, amounted to US$ 30.3 billion in the first half of this year, according to figures issued last week by the Brazilian Association of Financial and Capital Market Organizations (Anbima).
According to the Anbima, out of all bond issues abroad, 99.6% consisted of fixed income bonds, bonus bonds, and medium term notes (MTN’s). In June alone, bond issues fetched US$ 3 billion and were all fixed income, according to the Anbima.
In Brazil, bond issues fetched 56.6 billion reals (US$ 27.8 billion) from January to June. Of those, 7.6 billion reals (US$ 3.7 billion) were issued in June. Fixed income bonds prevailed in both periods.
