Bradesco bank had greatest Brazilian banking profit in the last 20 years
The Brazilian bank had net income of over 8 billion Brazilian reals (US$ 4.5 billion) in 2007, an increase of 58% over 2006, and a new record for the sector, which previously belonged to the state-owned Bank of Brazil. In Brazil, only oil company Petrobras and mining giant Vale do Rio Doce had already posted greater results.
