Brasília – The Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) last Monday (27) approved Boeing-Embraer deal without restrictions. According to the statement, the companies don’t operate in the same markets and there’s no risk of competition problems resulting of this acquisition
The operation analyzed by CADE presented two transactions. The first one consists of Boeing’s purchase of 80% of Embraer’s commercial jet division, which builds large regional and commercial aircrafts. The second concerns the creation of a Boeing-Embraer joint-venture to produce the military transport aircraft KC-390, with 49% and 51% shares respectively.
Embraer-Boeing partnership was approved by the Brazilian manufacturer shareholder last year. The company’s defense and executive jet business and services will remain as a separate, publicly traded company
