People gather in a public garden near the Siddiq Mosque, in the Heliopolis district in eastern Cairo, Egypt, after the morning prayers of Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. The date is observed with a public holiday of around three days in Muslim countries, along with prayers, celebrations, and the exchange of gifts among families. This year, countries in the Middle East are experiencing Eid al-Fitr under unusual circumstances due to the ongoing conflict in the region. Many families will spend the holiday at home for safety reasons. In some countries, there are restrictions on activities, such as public events and outdoor prayers.
