Brasília – A presidential decree published in the Official Gazette on Monday (26) has extended the list of medical, hospital and hygiene products whose export is banned as they are essential to fighting the coronavirus epidemic in the country. The inclusion of new products was made possible by changing the law 13,993, which was approved by the National Congress in March 2020 and enacted by president Jair Bolsonaro.
The law applies while the Brazilian public health emergency is in force. The original list banned exports of lung ventilators and circuits, hospital beds, multiparameter monitors, personal and protection equipment (PPE) such as rubber and nitrile gloves, waterproof medical aprons, protective goggles, medical hats, surgical facemasks, and face shields.
