Brasília – In October, 126,143 formal jobs were created in the country according to figures from the General Records Office for Employment and Unemployment (Caged) disclosed this Friday (18th) by the Ministry of Labour. The result is 44.4% lower than the total of openings created in September, 227,038, in the seasonally adjusted series, i.e., including delayed hiring. In the adjustment-free series, 209,087 jobs were created in September.
In October, 1.66 million people were hired and 1.53 million were dismissed. The total number of jobs created is 28.4% lower than in October of last year, when 204,804 formal jobs were created.
The top job generating sectors were services (77,201), trade (60,878) and civil construction (10,298). Year-to-date, 2.24 million jobs were created. According to the government, the target for this year is to create 2.8 million jobs.
