Brasília – The unemployment rate reached 12.2% in the quarter ending in January, which amounts to 12.7 million unemployed people. The index remains stable in comparison to the previous quarter, from August to October 2017.
The data was released this Wednesday (28) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) as part of the Continuous National Household Sample Survey (PNAD Contínua). In comparison to the same period of the previous year, between November 2016 and January 2017, the unemployment rate declined 0.4 percentage point.
