São Paulo – Brazilian exports of machinery and equipment grew 33.6% in August compared to the same month last year, despite a slight decline of 0.5% compared to July. According to data released to the press on Wednesday (1) by the Brazilian Association of Machinery and Equipment Industry (ABIMAQ), the sector’s revenue from foreign markets in August reached USD 1.2 billion.
With this result, the Brazilian machinery and equipment industry ended the first eight months of the year with export revenue of USD 8.3 billion, a slight decrease of 0.1% compared to the same period in 2024. Year to date, the average price of products shipped to foreign markets fell by 2.4%.
“Despite the overall stability, there was an increase in sales among the groups of exported products, including agricultural machinery, machinery for non-durable consumer goods, and components. The highest growth occurred in sales to South American countries, particularly in Argentina, Chile, and Peru,” ABIMAQ reported in its analysis of the period.
