São Paulo – The Brazilian Ministry of Tourism has set a goal of attracting 7.2 foreign tourists to the country this year, as against roughly 6 million in 2013. The information was released this Thursday (27th) and is included in the Ministry’s 2014 Action Plan. One of the events that will draw tourists to the country is the World Cup, to be held in 12 Brazilian cities in June and July.
The plan, according to the ministry, provides for 47 different initiatives for structuring, fostering and promoting tourism. As a result, the government is hoping to gross US$ 9.2 billion in international tourism revenues, as against US$ 6.71 billion in 2013, and increase the number of domestic trips to 226.4 million.
