Brasília – The Brazilian trade surplus in the third week of September totalled US$ 556 million, as informed today (21st) by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade. So far this month, the country is running a surplus of US$ 1.363 billion, as a result of US$ 8.752 billion in exports and US$ 7.389 billion in imports.
In the third week of September, exports totalled US$ 3.496 billion and imports, US$ 2.940 billion.
From January until the third week of September, the trade surplus was US$ 21.331 billion, a figure 10.4% higher than the one recorded in the same period of 2008 (US$ 19.319 billion). From January until last week, exports totalled US$ 106.687 billion and imports, US$ 85.356 billion.
